Victoria Festival of Authors returns to Langham Court Theatre
The Victoria Festival of Authors (VFA) is Vancouver Island’s largest, and liveliest, celebration of books and book lovers. For eight years, VFA has hosted authors from across Canada for readings, panel discussions and workshops, and they’re back for our ninth festival from October 16 to 20.
Since 2021, this festival has been a hybrid, offering in-person programming of BC-based writers, most also available by livestream for those viewing from home, as well as virtual programming of authors from across Canada. Their in-person events take place at the beautiful Langham Court Theatre and on the trails of W̱MÍYEŦEN Nature Sanctuary.
Accessibility is essential to us. VFA offers sliding scale pricing, with free tickets available for all virtual and indoor programming. With many events guest curated, VFA ensures their Indigenous and IBPOC curators have creative autonomy. The result is a vibrant, diverse festival of emerging and established writers of poetry and prose. With over 50 authors taking part in 19 events, there is something for everyone!
