‘Sham’ and ‘The Boy Comes Home’ Oct 27
Our next Readers’ Theatre production will be two one-act plays, SHAM and THE BOY COMES HOME at Langham Court Theatre, Saturday, October 27th at 8pm. Both plays will be directed by board member Quinn MacTavish. These plays were the very first plays produced at our theatre almost 90 years ago!
Sham
SHAM, by Frank Tompkins, is a comedy about a cultured thief attempting to rob a house. The owners of the house, Clara and Charles, come home unexpectedly and the thief informs them that if he does not steal something from them, they will be disgraced as people will assume they have nothing worth stealing!
The Boy Comes Home
The Boy Comes Home, by A. A. Milne, is a comedy about a young man, Philip, who has just returned to his uncle’s home after fighting in the trenches during the Great War. It becomes apparent that Philip is not the pushover that he once was and that his uncle’s plans to get him working in his jam factory might not work out after all.
Admission to both of these plays is by donation, and refreshments will be provided!
