READERS’ THEATRE FESTIVAL is back!!
The Readers’ Theatre Festival will take place Saturday May 14th at 7 p.m. As always, admission is free (donations are gratefully accepted) and there will be a reception following the final performance of the evening.
This year we welcome:
1) After a highly successful appearance at last year’s festival, we welcome back Monterey Middle School, under the able direction of Mitch Barnes. The 11 to 13 year old students are very excited to return to Langham, and will present a 1950 George Burns and Gracie Allen radio play, INCOME TAX PROBLEMS. Scenes will be interspersed with advertisements for Amident tooth paste, ‘the AMMONIATED toothpaste’. (running time: approximately 25 minutes)
2) DON’T TOUCH THE CLOUDS, written and performed by Mitch and Jo Barnes, with narration by Terry Rowsell, is presented by St. Luke’s Players. Bobbi and Phil are a happily married couple who have recently become ’empty-nesters’. Their struggle to deal with their new lives is both comic and poignant. (running time: approximately 40 minutes)
3) BOWSER
