Nelson Mandela Art Exhibit at Langham
On April 14, Langham welcomed artist Ainsley Guzman Jason and partner Russ Reynolds as they held an event in our lounge for their Nelson Mandela art exhibition which displayed recent works in this series. Guests were invited to watch a short documentary about Mandela and see a sneak peek of the progress of Ainsley’s mural on Langham’s stage. This was the second revelation of the art piece as the middle section was shared with attendees. The first section was revealed at Langham in early December.
Ainsley has completed two thirds of the painting which is 12’ x 24’, and will be 12’ x 36’ when finished. It’s composed of 6’ x 4’ canvases pieced together which can be installed and transported to multiple venues.
This monumental painting will be part of a touring exhibition dedicated to Nelson Mandela’s life and contribution to humanity. The show also includes original artworks created by Mandela while he was imprisoned.
Langham looks forward to seeing the final pieces and competition of the mural by this talented artist.
