On a snowy night, Inspector Ruffing is called to a remote house to investigate the headlong plunge of Patrick Roarke down the main staircase. He becomes involved in the lives of five alluring and dangerous women – Mrs. Ravenscroft; her daughter, Gillian; the maid, Dolly; Mrs. French the housekeeper; and Marcy, a governess. Thrills and chills abound before the story reaches its conclusion.

An Inspector Calls

Send Me No Flowers

George Kimball is a Westchester commuter whose favourite hobby is hypochondria. When he mistakenly overhears his doctor discussing another patient with heart trouble, he prepares to meet his end bravely. George begins to put his affairs in order and even arranges a good second husband for his soon-to-be widow, along with a cemetery plot for three: himself, his wife, and the new future Mr. Kimball.
